Changed

He stands upright
Yet leaning
Hinting for support to the energies around him
He's taken a large stone to the heart
Catching him off guard
And he watches helplessly as the cracks radiate out
Even beyond his being
Leaving him shattered
Yet standing.

A whole world in his life has been demolished
And all he can do is watch
Witness
As it lays whimpering before him
Sighing in agony
Chipping away at him
With each breath.

He's swimming in the arrhythmia of his surroundings
Attempting to search for a solution
Looking for any sign of hope
Before the night mists over.
He wants to count on Time
To play sport
And throw him a few chunks of Its endless stream
Stretching the Now
To help him salvage what he can.

He wants to coat a balm
Over all the loss
And all those about him
Who are enduring a reality
Asymmetrical to anything they ever imagined.
He can see the pain
Beneath their brave smiles
He can sense the defeat
Hidden in their eyes
And especially the fear
Of the uncertain road ahead -
Its practically tangible in air.
But he knows
He cannot allow himself to disintegrate
Not right now
Time will provide for that later.
Right now
He must concentrate his focus
Unsplinter his Spirit within
And wake his resources
As the dusk around him begins to sob.

On his shoulders rest the tears of many
Whose Earth has been pulled out from under them
And who lie
Shivering
Among the rubble
Half wanting to assimilate into it
To escape the effort of re-establishing themselves
Half searching for support
In the only thing remaining standing
No matter how frail.

He wasn't waiting for Change
But now that it's here
Staring him in the face
He needs to do more than just stare back.
It might take a few moments
To reassemble his strength
But he will translate into that Fire
Majestic in potential
Blazing with resolve
And soldier on
Rebuilding what he can restore
And creating fresh what he cant.

He'll pick up what's fallen -
Possessions, emotions, energy..
Be the crutch to the unstable heart
Be the scaffolding to the unsettled mind
Be the pillar to the broken Spirit -
He will just Be
Allowing his Light to comfort the affected
Sharing his heart and hands
In blind support.

He may never attain the perfect solution
And things may never be the same again
But he never learned how to give up
And one way or another
He will phoenix from all the anguish
More resilient on the other side
More solid from within
Healed to breathe and beat once again
Revitalized
Changed.
